Classes
Due to some upcoming big life changes, all classes & performances are on hiatus until further notice. If you have a current class card please get in touch so you can receive a refund for unused classes.
All classes held at Bright Star World Dance, 496 Congress St., 4th Floor, Portland Maine. (above Subway sandwich shop)
Dance Fundamentals (Level 1) is always the best place for a new ATS dancer to start. Learn to dance in community by drilling the basics in fun combinations. Learn all basic movements and group formations in a six-week cycle including posture and body awareness, zils and music.
Tribal Combinations (Level 2) adds creative steps, additional formations, and the opportunity to refine your technique. To take this class, you must have taken six weeks of Level 1 as there are no descriptions of the basic steps. This class is taught in a 12-week cycle.
Drills / Improv Choreography (Level 3) adds intermediate and advanced level combos, and works them into the process of creating a stage set, using real-life situations! This class is also performance prep for our student performances. By permission only - ask about your skill level before joining this class.
Dress for Levels 1 & 2: Full skirt or loose pants/leggings, short top or leotard -- just wear something comfortable. Bare feet or dance shoes only in dance studio. You will need zills (finger cymbals). Purchase from me or bring your own.
Dress for Level 3: Full skirt or pantaloons, choli top or leotard, hair tied up off face and neck.
Enrollment
No pre-registration required, just show up 15-20 minutes prior to the start of class. Yes, it's that easy!
Fees
$13 / single class. Or, save with a class card:6-class card: $65
12-class card: $120
Two-hour classes are $25/drop-in, or two punches from your class card.

About Class Cards
- Expire 6 months from date of purchase
- Non-transferable. Your punch card is for you & you only.
- Treat your card like cash - you are responsible for bringing it to class. If you forget your card, you will be charged the regular drop-in rate for that class or workshop. No exceptions.
- Good for regularly-scheduled classes or periodic in-studio workshops with me only. Workshops with visiting instructors or workshops taught at remote locations are not included

Additional Information
Weather Policy / Cancelled Classes
Class will be cancelled if Portland declares a citywide OR yellow-zone snow ban that begins at 6pm. Class cancellations will be announced on the website, our email list, and via outgoing voicemail no later than 3pm for evening classes, or 8am for daytime classes.
